FAQs

What do I need to bring with me to Move-in?

  • A Negative COVID19 test result within 72 hours of your move in date.
  • Proof of receiving a Flu shot by December 31, 2020.

You may upload both documents into the CoVerify App.

I chose to be remote student or commuter for Fall 2020, but I am moving on campus for Spring 2021. What day do I move in?

If you are a returning student who chose to live remotely or commute for Fall 2020 and are now living in the residence halls for Spring 2021, you would be moving in on Friday, January 29th.

  • Students with the last name of A-L may arrive 9am-10:30am
  • Students with the last name of M-Z may arrive 10:30-Noon

What is the process for Move in?

  • STEP ONE
    • You will arrive to the Athletic Center, once you arrive you will enter and go to the Nurse’s station to present your negative COVID test and proof of Flu shot.
      • Only students (unless under 18 years old) should be entering the Athletic Center
    • If you do not have a negative COVID test and proof of Flu shot, you will be asked to leave campus as you will be unable to move in. If you have a concern regarding this, please email Dean Boggio directly pamela.boggio@nichols.edu ASAP – before arrival to campus.
  • STEP TWO
    • After you have completed Step One you will then receive your key. If you are a new student, you will then be directed to Public Safety to receive a student ID.
    • If the student is under 18 years old, a parent or guardian must accompany the student for Steps Two and Three.
  • STEP THREE
    • Once the student has received their room key, they will then proceed to the COVID Testing Center located in the Auditorium for Spring 2021.
  • STEP FOUR
    • Once student have been tested, they will now proceed to their designated residence hall to move in.

Can I bring a futon or a couch into my room?

Students will not be permitted to bring any outside furniture (couch, futon, personal mattress, recliner chairs, etc.) into the residence halls. Students are encouraged to bring as minimal belongings as possible to campus. We ask that you limit large items, storage bins, containers, trunks, etc..

When I arrive, where can I park?

Upon arrival to campus, we ask you to park in B, N or M residential parking lots rather than the campus roads or spaces directly next to your building. Center Road is a town road and should not be parked on.

When I arrive, where do I go?

Upon arrival to campus, you will report to the Athletic Center.

I am a new student and need an ID, what do I do?

New students will take their ID photos and be issued an ID at Public Safety, after arriving at the Athletic Center to pick up their key and check-in.

I am a returning student and lost my ID and need a new one, what do I do?

Returning students in need of an ID must email publicsafety@nichols.edu so your new ID can be processed and ready for you once you arrive to campus. The charge for a replacement ID is $25 and will be added to your student account.

Will Nichols assist me in moving in? Will carts or hand trucks be available?

Unfortunately, we do not have the staffing capabilities this year due to COVID19 restrictions to assist our on-campus students to move in.

To reduce as much exposure as possible, we do NOT have carts or hand trucks available for move in and suggest you bring your own to assist in your move in.

What happens if I no longer wish to live on campus?

If you no longer wish to live on campus email reslife@nichols.edu to begin the Change of Status process.

QUESTIONS?

If you have a question regarding living on campus please email reslife@nichols.edu directly.

You will continue to receive updates and information to your Nichols College email address should their be any changes or updates.

Thank you.
